Italy: Mattarella dissolves parliament for snap elections after Draghi quits

  1. Elections will be held on September 25 (officially confirmed). It will be the first time Italy will vote in autumn.

  2. Let’s hope the centrist and center-left parties will get their shit together so that a far-right+neofascist+Berlusconi majority doesn’t happen.

  3. So the next government will probably be Lega+FI+FdI, with Lega and FdI being Anti-EU and in parts right-extreme. On top of that, the interest rate increases put more pressure on Italy’s finances giving them the perfect opportunity to rail against the EU. Am I right so far?
