Well, when our current government takes the piss instead of taking politics seriously, no wonder.
I wonder what caused that perception?
Democracy?
Lol.
Major democracy my arse. But yeah trust is not synonymous with government and hasn’t been for my entire adult life.
We have never been a democracy. At best we are a 1/3 representative democracy, with a FPTP help your mates out, move the goalposts system.
You don’t say…
They’re a corrupt mafia who only work for their wealthy mates, so im not surprised! We need a revolution to get them out, but this country is too lazy and brainless!
It would have to be very low to be below Canada’s. Even before this year’s unlucky economic and social events, Trudeau could only command 32.6% of votes cast.
Boris apparently leaving with his head held high
These guys are living a fantasy
russia’s multi-decade long game is now paying off!
It’s like, elect a known lying liar to run the government and wonder why after nearly 3 years trust is at an all time low.
Can’t think why, then again I have only just woken up from a coma I went into in 2019. Maybe I missed a few small things.
It’s sad that some people still give Johnson the benefit of the doubt over Brexit (which he wanted) and COVID (which he almost deliberately mismanaged). Johnson is the victim of himself and only that. If he wanted to remain PM for a long time then he should have tried to be less openly corrupt and reprehensible.
Some people on here need to pay reality a visit. We just hold our leaders to a higher standard than other countries. Trump literally caused a coup and is standing for President in 2024. Berlusconi got caught in Parliament for having sex with underage girls, walked away with no punishment. Macron just got caught accepting bribes to help Uber distort competitiveness in the French taxi industry, a foreign private corporation, walked away with no problems. Merkel broke EU law by bringing in 1 million migrants to Germany, walked away with no problems. George Bush jr admitted he lied about WMD’s and fabricated evidence to prosecute an illegal war, got away with it. All those leaders should have been investigated or jailed. Thats just the last 15 years of foreign leaders that I can think of whilst smoking a cig.
Not saying our democracy is perfect but Boris had a party, breaking coronavirus rules in a civil offence and his premiership explodes. It is a good thing, not a bad thing that we hold our politicians to a higher standard than almost every other country. Id argue we have low trust because we hold our lot to higher standards than everyone else does.
Is this the government that got undermined by a taxi company? If Uber have managed it, I can only imagine who else is having secret meetings with them.
Noooo, say it ain’t so, our government? Untrustworthy? Nahhhhhh /s
Liars, continue ually being caught lying.
Incorrect, Britain isn’t a democracy.
Our recent foreign ministers explain most of this. Then there I’d our pm.
Shame on every tory voter.
I’m originally from Germany and the general consensus there is “what’s the point of voting, all that parties are the same and do nothing”.
Over here it’s either: “the Tories completely effed the country, vote for labour”
Or: “labour effed us over before the Tories, either way they’re two sides of the same coin”.
There’s literally no trust in the government here and rightfully so. The mindboggling decisions that the government in this country makes are so against everything the EU stands for it’s no wonder they wanted to leave.
