Brexit: UK’s divorce bill from EU could rise to £42.5bn

  1. Tbh I can’t even feel schadenfreude from that anymore, I’m just annoyed about what it will do to the economy.

  2. “Treasury minister Simon Clarke said inflation meant the bill could be up to £7.5bn higher than initially estimated.

Originally, the government estimated the bill, which covers spending commitments made during the UK’s membership of the EU, would be between £35bn and £39bn.”

So the bill could be even more than £42.5bn when everything is said and done.

  3. In reality it’s much higher, the sum for example does not include all EU negotiating costs with a UK government that did not really negotiate. But alright, we’ll get to that when they re-apply.

  4. And they all said it was “project fear” when we said we’d have to pay a load.

    Cheers for that one, Brexiteers.

  5. But look at all the sovereignty they are getting from it. That’s a bargain! I mean: Just look at average working class Brits. Their everyday life will improve so much with all that… uh… What did the working class in Britain gain from Brexit again?

  6. That’s not so bad considering the vast return on the trade agreements made so far. Who needs the largest economic bloc in the world when….ahh never mind, even sarcasm isn’t able to convey the absolute stupidity of morons in power and the dodos who put them there.
