Nadhim Zahawi would ‘certainly’ give Boris Johnson job in cabinet

  1. Keep your enemies close, muzzle him with cabinet collective responsibility so he can’t criticise

….until he inevitably lies or gets caught breaking the ministerial code and you have to sack him….so like 48hrs?

  2. What’s it with these guys now trying to makenit look like they adore Boris ? It was Fishy Sunak yesterday showering compliments on BJ. Are they wooing the staunch Boris supporters?

  3. After being ‘Feuhrer’, Boris will not be interested in doing another lower job.

If he takes one up, he’ll have no interest in doing it properly. It’s not in his nature.

In any case he would have to be Chancellor (oh god), or Foreign Secretary. God forbid.

  4. He justified it by saying ‘they’ve been friends for 30 years’. Imagine if all jobs worked like that. Fuck hiring whoever is most qualified and suitable for the job, let’s just all hire our mates. The Tories have fallen so so far they don’t even try to look competent anymore.

  5. The guy crumbles under any difficult questioning.. ums and aahs his way through a sentence without answering .. do we really want this idiot running the country. Any Tory for that matter. yuck.

  6. Wait Rees-Molag Bal will refuse to serve in a Sunak government? I don’t like Sunak … But man if this isn’t a reason to have him as PM I don’t know what else!

  7. As long as it no more important than the guy who gets the tea, I am OK with that.

Johnson should stick to the after dinner circuit. The fact that it pays better will hopefully tempt him away from politics forever. Him operating as a puppetmaster to Zahawi would be an awful indictment of our democracy.

  8. Imagine having to go to your leader to tell them to resign as they’re fucking clueless and destroying the country only to then say that you’d employ them in an important job.

Do any Tory voters here appreciate the hypocrisy of this and that people like Nadhim think that you’ll think this is entirely reasonable?

He’s only saying it as he knows that Boris still has support amongst the _genuinely fucking stupid_ people in the population, of which there are many; at least 17m people, if 2015 is a yardstick or around 13m based on 2019.

  9. Boris is going to quit as an MP because he only has an 8k majority and he will refuse to go through the experience of losing his seat next election. He would most likely want to go as soon as he steps down as PM but that would create a by-election (which they will lose bc 8k majority), so the party will beg him to stay on as a backbencher.

  10. Shocking though this is to most of us, you have to remember who his audience is: other Tories. There’s probably still quite a substantial pro-Boris contingent among both MPs and the party – he is putting himself forward as their candidiate, the Thanos-did-nothing-wrong candidate, if you will.

  11. He couldn’t hold down any job for fuck’s sake. They could make him Ministerial Doorstop and he’d wander off down the pub after 5 minutes.

  12. At this point I do have to question if they’re on the same planet as the general public. I can immayely spout off 10 good reasons to keep him in there. And probably 1000 better than what he said. Jesus wept.
