We would like some help to translate a text in Slovenian.
It was written by my friend’s great-grand-mother, who emigrated in France in the 1930s. She was apparently from Pečarovci, north of Murska Sobota.
She didn’t manage to get it translated, it might be written in a dialect? Any help would be appreciated 🙂

As a side question, how would one go about finding information about their ancestors in Slovenian? Are there websites / associations?

This is definitely written in a dialect, I currently don’t have time to sit down and translate but I can in the next few days, is that okay? I understand most of what is written.
I am not from Perkmurje (where this is from) so I couldnt decypher everything:
“Dear [name], at first i wish you best regards, happy holidays(not sure if its that, going from context) and a happy new year. We are here with the kids [i am not sure what the 6th row says].
I dont know whats wrong with you, you never write back. Jeunot already wrote to you. [Somebody (I dont know what/who “u epoin vek” is, but from context I think its some person] came here twice, except they didnt have time to come to you (my new guess for that, seems more correct). Write back about how its doing and if Andrej went into the army (thats my best guess, im not sure).
(I cant fully desypher the last 7 lines, but i think its talking about a kid Jeunot, who went to school and grew up to be tall and big so you wouldnt even recognise him.) [Then it abruptly ends with:] So now i dont know what to write anymore, best regards.”
This is just a general look at it so you somewhat understand what is going on, i had to work from context a lot to figure this out. Hopefully someone can translate better.
