The man who helped Boris create his scandals, was fined for criminal activity alongside Boris, directly killed more people during Covid with his incompetence, has helped oversee the destruction of our standards of living which will likely kill people this winter. Stole tens of billions from the tax payer by helping friends and criminals embezzle then refusing to claw any it back. Him and his wife dodged taxes so they didn’t contribute to the money he let his friends steal.
Any lack of faith in Boris should be on Rishi’s shoulders too.
I don’t even live in the UK and this had me wanting to puke in my mouth at the thought
I don’t think Sunak will win. He’s top in the leadership race but in polls of Tories he doesn’t do well against the no 2 Penny Mordaunt and it’s the members who will choose
Wish he didn’t , the oligarch
Won’t there be a membership pushback here, with people holding their nose and voting for Penny instead of Rishi? Or a consolidated right flank around someone like Liz Truss?
Rishi was always going to win the Establishment vote. But he bombed in front of the ERB backbenchers, and then the 200,000 rank-and-file duespayers that will decide this are considerably more to the right than the establishment and deeply mistrustful of Sunak.
I just don’t think Reuters over here has a complete handle on this, either that or I’ve been woefully misinformed.
I’m not sure he’s really “cemented his lead” at all. Mordaunt is favourite among the membership, and Sunak isn’t running away with it in such a way which might change their minds.

Jesus Christ, I really do hate this timeline
