Rape has not been legalised in the UK – Full Fact

  1. Yes but there’s “illegal” and “illegal”.

Something can have a five year prison sentence on the statute book but the system might not ever send someone to prison for it. Example: Cannabis poscession.

A few years back the lefties in the tory party wanted to end prison sentences under 6 months or something like that. This would have included many sexual offenders. Had it gone through, one could reasonably describe that as a decriminalisation of sexual assault.

If rapists aren’t being prosecuted and punished, it’s effectively descriminalised. The article is still mostly correct though.

  2. A Facebook post spreading dangerous mis/disinformation?

    Imagine my surprise.

Too late to do anything about it now, this bullshit will be repeated for years as idiots continue to believe it because they read it on Facebook years ago.

  3. Rape has not been legalised, but with conviction rates so abysmally low, it may as well have been decriminalised.

  4. What sort of crazy world would we live in where the public would allow politicians to legalise rape?

How many people in 100 would vote to support rape? Like 1 fucking sick bastard?

There’s not much we can all agree on, but the vast majority of us agree that rape is bad. Very bad.

Anyone who would believe a story like this must be so gullible and have no perspective at all.

  5. Daily Mirror article turned into a Facebook video that involves children, sex, and anything more liberal in policing than immediate public hanging of suspects?

You could tell me the sky is blue with that sourcing and I would go outside to check my prior assumptions.
