South East Water: Plea to use water for essentials only in heatwave

  1. it stands to reason that during particularly dry times we should try to conserve water, since building lots of excess reservoirs is a waste for the majority of time they are not needed.

  2. I get asking people not to water their gardens. But in reality that means letting all the plants you’ve spent hours tending to over several months (or years) potentially die. Anyway I live in the North West which is basically the wettest part of the country so don’t have those issues.

  3. Nah they can pull their fucking finger out and fix all the leaks.
Don’t be wanking off about people using water for non essentials when your pipes are leaky as fuck wasting far more water per day than a bloody water fight and a pool.

  4. Four people have come to ‘*fix*’ my shower over the past week. Still doesn’t work. I’m doing my part *by stinking.*

  5. If a business with an absolute monopoly is incapable of serving its singular purpose, it should not be allowed to continue existing.

  6. South East Water should focus on the essentials of reducing their 60% water loss in distribution. Getting the water to the consumer is the essential part of their task. Not giving handouts to shareholders.

  7. When these water companies fix the ridiculous amount of waste due to leaks in their system, I might be inclined to listen. Until then I’ll carry on using water for whatever purpose I choose – essential or not.
