The only reason Assange is currently in a British prison awaiting extradition is because he fled when he was facing allegations of rape and sexual assault. Be simply can’t be trusted to be honest in they eyes of the law.
If Assange had been extradited to Sweden, he could not subsequently been sent to US as part of the terms are not to allow third country extraditions (also why bother when US could have got from UK anyway). The only logical reason to flee would be not wanting to face consequences of rape and sexual assault he committed.
