If only he was so emotional about the issues that his party have caused the Irish people.
Sinister links?
He’s a useless sack of shite. Has no qualifications to be doing anything
I was in Singapore and went to a few of those sites. It’s just insane when you read into what the Japanese did to Singapore. The whole story of the Battle of Singapore is batshit.
Basically the British had all their attention on the sea, as Malaysia at that point was a thriving jungle and who would be dumb enough to invade through there?
Only that’s what the Japanese did – they invaded through Malaysia – with a lot of their force on fucking bikes! – and caught the Brits completely off guard, overwhelming them easily. Churchill went on to say that he considered it one of Britain’s most embarrassing defeats.
Anyway, I was at a museum and it’s mad the resentment that the Singaporeans still have for Japan. The English versions of their stuff consistently refers to the “Japs” and you’ll never see anything Japanese related anywhere across the place.
No wonder FFG is such West Brits.
An interesting story about Micheál Martin, never thought I’d see the day.
Question: I never waste my time reading the journal.ie but if you read the comments to that article it’s all anti-British/republican/fuck MM stuff, with huge upvotes. There’s a comment saying that this is the same man who cancelled a commemoration of the murder of Thomas MacSweeney (who I think actually died on hunger strike but anyway) and it’s got loads of up votes. The provo comments on here have all been downvoted.
Not saying which is right or wrong but when did the journal.ie get taken over by these old roght-wing republican anti-estsblishment types? I had an idea in my head that it was a very pro-establishment SoCoDu sort of website?
My grand aunt was a nun in Singapore who was captured and tortured in one of those camps. I only knew her as a small child as this scary nun who would talk to herself and get really scary fits of rage. When I was older my nana explained that she was such a happy go lucky person who would start a sing song and was a talented musician. She was the life and soul of the party but when she came back from that it was like she was a person who had been hollowed out. My nana said she never saw her laugh again. I think about it every so often at how sad that was , if anyone has seen the fantastic polish film Cold War it’s about this that as human beings if we go through a trauma so bad sometimes you can’t escape it it eventually consumes you. Well that’s a nice happy note for people to read on a weekend 😂😂😂
