Let’s not ignore the accurate part of this – prior to the 2000s, Ireland was relatively poor and has undergone the most profound transformation of almost any western nation over the last century.
Sure we still have issues, but like… back in the 90s driving from Dublin to Cork was like a 6 hour journey…. the N7 was hell on earth on a Friday. Imagine, every car doing that trip having to pause for every lad looking to cross the road in Monestrevin at the lights to grab a bag of chips in Luigis across the road from Finlays pub. The same was happening everywhere. Kildare town, ballybrittas, Portlaoise and so on the whole way down.
When things get better, they do so incrementally, over time to the point where we barely notice or acknowledge the improvements.
its complicated, but Ireland did basically grow from an industrial backwater to a pharma, electronics and med devices powerhouse, while gdp is a bit misleading, ireland did turn its fortunes around

GDP is propped up by tax avoiding multinationals. #

How do they know GDP over the next three years?
Except ours isn’t representative.
GDP, bad measure etc etc.
