Its interesting that Scotland is the lowest with almost half the percentage of poor children than the NE.

If 2/5 doesn’t sound bad to you put it into a percentage and see if you still feel the same.
And yet the Tories still closed and refuse to reopen Sure Start Centres. Some of the poorest children in the community got three healthy square meals per day, access to routine and positive relationships, the ability to learn and prepare for school with children significantly more well off (true ‘levelling up’) and there was support for parents (groups, social workers etc on site).
I’ve never personally seen first hand a better use of tax money in my life.
That’s the reality of Bodger’s “Leveling Up”….

The North East and the South West were in receipt of the EU’s European Social Fund but they voted it all away with Brexit and there’s nothing to replace it with, all that levelling up stuff is just bollocks, it will never happen.
Don’t worry, the torys plan to convert all the potholes in Yorkshire into affordable housing.
Well I’m sure the Tories will consider this an accomplishment.

I wonder how many people knew that London previously held this title?
A lot of the conversations about regional inequality, Brexit, “levelling up” and related topics seem to start by assuming that there aren’t many poor people in London. This is simply untrue – there’s a lot of wealth in London but there’s also an almost unbelievable amount of poverty!

Successive governments completely ignoring the NE for decades.
Ignored since the 80s and not even listened to then. If the Government spent less time listening to very noisy people based in London who have access to unlimited opportunities and more time listening to people in the north who have access to almost no opportunities then perhaps the country might be in a better state.

What we really need in this country is more immigration! Bring more people – God only knows who they are – over from God only knows where they come from, and give them all the food and housing they want, free of charge! That’s what’s the most important issue our country faces!
We simply must show the rest of the world just how tolerant Britain is. Screw our own people and our own kids, we must only take care of everyone else’s people and their kids!
