If I walk into Tesco and see a single bauble I will burn the place down
We’ll have no gas to cook the food by then anyways
That’s genuinely good advice, and always has been. I start thinking about Christmas gifts around now, with the intention of having everything got by December (usually cheaper too). Xmas shop then is just food.
I want to say Waterford Whispers but I’m usually wrong when it happens and Tescos are involved in some TikTok argument at the moment so I’ll say Independent?
My problem isnt that these places start selling Christmas/Halloween/Easter stuff months in advance, it’s that they’re completely out of it as much as two weeks before the holiday.
I just hate that each year has a different reason. Pre pandemic it was just Brown Thomas saying ‘people like buying things over many months’. During the pandemic it was to avoid disappointment due to shipping. Now its due to inflation. Next year they’ll say to start buying useless tat because that’s what you should do like a lovely good consumer to stimulate the economy.
Maybe we should just stop buying so much bullshit at Christmas
NGL, I’ve been legit doing this for years. Shopping from October onwards just gives me anxiety and since I’m on a budget, buying the odd Xmas gift in the summer months helps even out the costs. I always get gently teased by my family for starting the shopping in the middle of the year but when you have about 13 people to shop for like I usually do, it makes perfect sense take advantage of the summer sales.
