Flag day or Independence day refers to the Albanian Declaration of Independence on 28 November 1912 and the rise of the Albanian flag in Vlora, coinciding with the day in which Skanderbeg raised the same flag in Kruje, on 28 November 1443.
I remember reading an opinion of Mark Marku, an Albanian professor, that the Albanian flag doesn’t and shouldn’t represent Albanians because is a Byzantine symbol. An opinion which I find ill-informed and mostly nationalist mumbo jumbo.
