Recently spent some time in hospital (UK) and was pleasantly surprised with the amount of menu choices. The quality was what you’d expect on a decent aeroplane meal (except for the shit quality sausages in their bangers and mash). Everything mentioned on the menu was actually available to order.

That seems extremely thoughtful!
That is really impressive. I’ll have the fish and chips please.
Bit worried about the beef, lamb and pork dishes – the preponderance of mince isn’t a good sign of quality ingredients, though I suppose it’d be difficult to prevent steaks from going dry during the long journey between kitchen and ward.
Edit: looking forward to seeing menus from other countries!
that’s a pretty impressive selection actually
I am gläd to hear food was good und hope you feel beter soon 🌼🌻🌸
As a Romanian I found this unavoidable not to masturbate to.
Looks really good. In the US years ago I had surgery and I remember cold green beans, lumpy mash potatoes and a dry burger. All this for $10k a day….
Last time I did a stint in hospital (NHS) the ward I was in had Full English on the menu for breakfast.
Small portion (you don’t need much when you’re sat on your arse in a hospital bed all day) but pretty decent …the sausages were tosh though.
All in I think I gave it a 5/7
Was this a private hospital? Pretty impressive if it’s on the NHS. It just goes to show how massively it varies from region to region. Admittedly it was about 5 years ago when I was in hospital, but we didn’t get edible food, never mind a fancy menu.
Significantly less doctors, nurses, beds and ICUs than France, Germany or any other comparable country but an extensive garbage food menu, sounds about right for the glorious British NHS.
Wonder if they still pay us to take care of their own patients.

Edit: lol didn’t expect less from the British Brigade of r/europe, can’t attack me on the facts so they downvote away. Have some copium if you can get a prescription from a doctor before 2023 but I doubt it!
Not trying to dox but can I guess that you were somewhere in the South of England? The lack of mushy peas with the fish surprised me.
Glad you are on the mend and sorry about the quality of the sausages. It can be hit and miss. It may be why the preferred method of cooking is to make them crunchy (ie burnt)
As a French who is aware of the actual food they serve you in the UK, I really don’t find that appealing.
It’s not because it’s written « pasta » that it will be good pasta.
Moreover, it cannot have that many dishes that use different ingredients and different time of cooking and be « freshly cooked ». Fresh tomatoes in Leicester in November ? My ass.
That’s the current trend of transforming hospitals into hotels. Unfortunately at the same time the number of beds is being reduced and he offer gets more expensive. Who would have thought of Covdi?
My grandad spent a lot of time in hospitals in Leicester and I think their menu choices certainly kept him sane. Couldn’t imagine having to eat the same food for months on end.
You guys are getting menus?
Meanwhile in Poland you get a stale piece of bread, small amount of butter and mushy piece of the worst meat
You also can’t beat hospital toast I don’t know why it’s so nice and comforting but it is so good
