Dear redditors of r/hungary!
I found a song by László Kazal – [Telefonkönyv-polka.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMcrdKHqP-c)
I recognized the melody, there is a similiar song by Georg Kreisler in German – [Telefonbuch Polka](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dx04xAoHDE8&t=20s)

Thats why I have 2 Questions:
1) Where can I learn more about László Kazal , I only find information in hungarian.
2) Do you know who is the originals creater, Mr. Kazal or Mr. Kreisler?

  1. It seems to me Georg Kreisler made that song in 1992, and László Kazal died in 1983, so Kazal is the original creator between the two of them at least.

You can find more info [here](https://hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kazal_L%C3%A1szl%C3%B3), but you would need to use a translator like [this](https://hu-m-wikipedia-org.translate.goog/wiki/Kazal_L%C3%A1szl%C3%B3?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=wapp) to understand it. I’m not really familiar with anything (song, Kreisler, Kazal), but I hope this helps a bit at least.

  2. The lyrics of the Telefonkönyv-polka is is credited to G. Dénes György (born Dénes Guttmann) and the music to Marcell Ötvös. While it’s unclear whether there was a German original before they wrote the Hungarian song, many of G. Dénes’s schlagers, chansons and couplets went on to Soviet and Yugoslavian translations, so I’d guess that’s the same with the Kreisler version.
