”Now the party must dredge a solid from the chodbin to serve as a leader, like a plumber reaching down into a blocked toilet bowl hoping he can scoop out a clump of filth firm enough to sculpt into the shape of something presidential, a poodoo doll for the European Research Group’s proto-fascist plans”
I love Stewart Lee but he writes unreadable articles.
>It’s too late isn’t it? We are already dead.
Pretty much, yep.
Fits well with the title too. Like we entered the WH40k era but before having established the safety net of having spread to other planets.
Could Stewart Lee not think of anything more hyperbolic?
Has anyone checked on him? Is he ok?
“Only 4% of the Conservative party members, who choose our next prime minister, say hitting net zero is one of their top three priorities”
I wonder if it’s because they don’t believe it’s real as they’ve been brainwashed by the DM or if it’s because they’ll die soon and don’t even care about their own children/grandchildren.
Can we make Stewart Lee the absurdist Marat/Voltaire of the anti-Tory revolution, please?
Big fan of his proto-pretentious meta-satire, strangely British in an anti-nationalist way.
The satirist’s satirist. A herald of the patently absurd.
He may be exaggerating but it is very much based in truth. The Tories do have our lives in their hands, however they are only concerned about those with a lot of money and who can provide them with the right connections. They do not care about most of the UK, including most Tory voters, however they still have many people hoodwinked into believing that they really do care this time (fourth leader of the current era is the charm).
