I mean considering the options are essentially 1) marry an Irish person, 2) have a highly demanded critical skill or 3) be mega wealthy, I’d say it makes sense there aren’t more Americans living here.

We get loads of US visitors but large numbers of them moving here has never been a thing. I’ve hardly even seen interest in it until lately with many wanting to get out of the US, rather than specifically being enamoured with Ireland.
That’s because their delusions of being of Irish ancestry so when they step foot on irish bog they reckon their a fully fledge saint or scholar. Renouncing their new world hereditary.
They’re known to have a dose of the notions them yanks so they are.
