I bought (most) of a 1950s petrol pump from a lad in Limerick. Granddad for scale.

  1. That’s sweet. At current prices, if there’s any few litres of petrol leftover in the pump, it might just pay for itself

  2. I have restored and converted 3 old pumps now to EV chargers as a bit of a hobby over lockdowns, none were of any real value so no harm done. I love the irony plus there is a decent profit after converting for EV owners as they have deep pockets I have found.

Its very easy to do, strip out the old mechanicals and fix in a Zappi charger. You do not even have to have any electrical skills as the electrician installing it does all the home installation.

  3. It looks cool as an ornament for a garage or something but I’d be really tempted to do a stealth build of a beer pump.
