Monkeypox declared a global health emergency by the World Health Organization

  1. It’s a shame that we didn’t get to number seven sooner, though being firstborn, Boris’ time is nearly up.

  2. Unified grumble of “o fucking hell not this again” from anyone who has flare ups of psoriasis or similar.. like when skin rashes were added to the covid symptom list

  3. [World Health Organisation’s global health emergency list](https://www.who.int/emergencies/situations) also includes the war in Ukraine, the crisis in Afghanistan and drought on the Horn of Africa.

**They’re not saying this is a pandemic.**

Also, monkeypox is spread primarily through sex…so most of you are safe anyway.

  4. Reminder that it isn’t only spread through sex, you know, as evidenced by the recent cases of infected kids… It can spread through any kind of close or prolonged contact.

  5. Monkeypox is spread via:

any **close physical contact with monkeypox blisters or scabs** (including during sexual contact, kissing, cuddling or **holding hands**)

touching **clothing, bedding or towels** used by someone with monkeypox

the **coughs or sneezes** of **a person with monkeypox** when they’re close to you

There are **75 kids** with monkeypox which means their families too.

Those talking about it being sexually transmitted or only gay men **it’s not a sexually transmitted disease**, WHO have said they shouldn’t have said that, yet it’s what the media grabbed and the homophobes believe.

**It can be spread by ANYONE** who did those 75 kids come into contact with, who hasn’t come forward.

Smallpox vaccine works, government should be buying up supplies and off it to those at risk 1st, which they are then everyone else.

  6. Sorry but World Health Organization lost its credibility due to handling of pandemic. They disregarded advise on lock down of Wuhan on start of human to human transmission of the virus and really late in declaring pandemic. There are rampant political issues definitely(WHO get their budget from china as well as other rich countries obviously, there is biases)

Remember Taiwan/China issue during start of pandemic? Taiwan raises human to human transmission but WHO disregarded it and endorsed China research that there is no human to human transmission. Why? China pressure.

Yes, some of their work/research are important but looking at their action on the start of pandemic, world health welfare Definitely not their priority. Money, politics comes first.

  7. Facebook groups be like,

“Can’t wait to get it !”

    Jess responds,
” Sure I’ve had it and I was giving hand shandys the following Thursday !”

    Peter wants his say,
    “ We can’t call it a disease if everyone’s had it !”

    Rinse Repeat.

Until your uncle arrives up on Christmas Day for a few sherrys with the monkey pox telling everyone he just has a rash !!
