I think it’s safe to say this will be a very expensive winter in Northern Europe.
Even if your country uses little or no Russian gas, the deficit it leaves in the dependant countries will affect your gas prices too.
If anyone here is religious, now would probably be a good time to start your weekly prayers for a warm winter.

Obvious question if Russia is not selling any gas to Europe then why shouldn’t Europeans respond by blocking remaining banks from swift, seizing every penny Gazprombank has, and declaring Russia a state sponsor of terrorism

european frienderinos any cool ideas how to crush putin for lowering our gas supply? I mean when he cuts in half, maybe germany and the other countries should just double weapon shipments to russia and repeat it. There is no way we could stay silent like this
other option is to keep the gas for the companies that urgently require gas for specific machines and lower it for the citizens (so you can still heat but room temperature won’t go above 18c e.g.), just give every citizen some bucks as compensation or likewise. Let’s go.. got any other cool idea?
Note: That is only for one year. Until Germany and the states in CEE will be independent of Russian gas will be at least 2 years, even with saving energy. Still has to hope for not an very cold winter in 2024/2025. Putin can play this games with us for a long, long time.
Well 20% , when reduced to zero what leverage does Putin have left ? Is his thinking simple that people will overlook the lack of security and blackmail and one day say ok have Ukraine and then we go back to business as normal ? Im not sure how anybody can go back .
