I’m honestly not sure if there is anything more cringy than the fetishisation of the Olympics by (neo)liberals as if the background of the 2008 recession and it’s consequences just decided to briefly pause for two weeks because some diverse faces in gentrified London decided to put on a short show for a few hours in the opening ceremony.
