Hey, I’m currently a resident in Sanem commune in Lux but I want to register at a friend’s place in Lux city. When changing my address at the Lux city commune, do I need to give them some sort of proof that I would live at a friend’s place? I don’t really have a lease or any confirmation document from my friend yet. Do I just come to the commune and tell them my new address?
This link shows a list of the documents to bring by apparently they don’t ask for any address confirmation: [https://www.vdl.lu/en/living/administrative-procedures/declaration-residence-departure-and-arrival](https://www.vdl.lu/en/living/administrative-procedures/declaration-residence-departure-and-arrival)
Is there someone who can share their experiences?

I just wrote this in another thread: Exactly, they only ask you the street name, door number, and floor.
They require however a proof of revenue, such as employment contract. But maybe only to those who register in the country for the 1st time.
If ypur friend lives there, and he’s the owner then he can write you a document that he confirms that you live with him. If he’s a renter, technically he cannot decide if you can legally live with him but I have heard that the commune of the city accepts almost any story and will register people anywhere.
I’ve moved a tonne of times in Lux city, and they only ever asked for proof of anything (apart from ID) during my first registration. I think once you’re in the country, it’s okay.
They can always call your friend to verify you live there. The commune won’t care if your subletting etc. Just that it’s your address
