Muslim Brotherhood using ‘woke’ Europeans to further its agenda: Experts

  1. The article quotes a UAE think tank as the main source. My question becomes, how the fuck would they know what goes on in Europe?

Secondly. That’s a super biased and dodgy source. I’ll wait for a reliable european one before forming an opinion

  2. Folk here are really eager to subscribe to propaganda funded by the Gulf gravy train and yet call others useful idiots.

  3. This is an incredibly vague article which is very sparse on details. I kept reading it to see how the title came into play and this is as detailed as it gets:

    >“we see these activists working very closely with LGBTQ organizations, with very progressive movements, which in reality they have very little in common with if you dig just a little.”

    ???

What does that mean? That in Europe they’re not really anti-LGBTQ and instead work with them? That they’re progressing past their backwards conservative views in developed countries? It says “they have very little in common with (LGBTQ organizations) if you just dig a little” but that’s the same with all religious organizations, yes? No matter how progressive they are; dig a little and you see they have little in common with LGBTQ?

Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t the entire point to get religious folk to stop their backwards conservatism and instead start being more progressive to fit into the Western world?

This weird UAE think tank source seems to just be putting out buzzwords and alluding to things that they give no concrete details on. It reeks of ulterior motive.

  4. I’m having trouble understanding how promoting a pro-LGBTQ movement helps the Muslim Brotherhood
Or conversely, if the Muslim Brotherhood in Europe somehow believe in a society that advances LGBTQ rights, how is that a bad thing?

  5. Gee who knew, anyone paying attention to geo politics has noticed the green parties towing the Muslim brotherhood line on foreign policy for a while now.

  6. For the people asking ‘How?’, the answer is very simple. Every criticism of Islam is censored and branded as ‘Islamophobic’/bigoted. The ‘wokes’ will freely exercise free speech and criticise stuff like the Church, but the second you speak unfavourably of Islamism, no matter how valid and factual the criticism is, you will be cancelled.

This gives the Muslim Brotherhood incredible leeway to do whatever it wants and then use the Islamophobia card as defence.

  7. 1. Read the article

    2. Try not to laugh

    3. Realise that’s just the Saudi government complaining about Muslims working with the LGBT community(How dare the European Muslims respect homosexuals?)

    4. Report the source as unreliable

  8. That’s why laicity is great.

They impose a very regressive social lifestyle targeting them through their political ideas. These types of religious communities/jamaat should be banned no matter what religion they believe in because all of them eventually become a cult of personality.

  9. This read like the fantasies of the alt-right.

Any resemblance to reality is pure coincidence.

If not for the “woke europe” our countries would be much similar to Muslim countries without women or lgbt rights.

  10. You people upvoting this article have never heard of Arab News in your lives, most of you. Second, two of the sources work for the Egyptian government. The Egyptian government took power from the Muslim brotherhood in a coup. They are mortal political enemies.

Now I don’t like or trust the Muslim brotherhood one iota and I do not believe they share liberal values at all, but don’t let your brains fall out your ears just because you read something that you think confirms your priors.

  11. The Muslim brotherhood and associations connected to them are very active in Sweden and have been for many decades. For example in the 90s MB made deals with the largest political party (socialdemocrats). Swedens muslim council is one of the associations with ties to the MB and in 2014 the socialdemocrats promised them they’d get more muslim politicians, work towards making Muslim holidays equal to our Christian ones, make it possible to get an imam education payed by the state etc. and in exchange you can only guess what they’d get.

There are also Muslim schools here that have ties to the MB and the kids there are separated by gender. There was a documentary about one Muslim school where you could see that in buses the girls were sat in the front and boys in the back.

The Socialdemocrats aren’t the only ones that have connections to or have been infiltrated by islamists though. Almost all established parties has had some scandal involving that, but the socialdemocrats are by far the worst.

Even the Swedish church (it’s very political) work with associations that have connections to the MB.

Swedens mainstream politicians (and other prominent people) sure send out a weird message when they talk about gender equality, that you should be able to be with which gender you want etc. and in the background they make deals with people who want the opposite.

What’s even more weird is that feminists stand by these islamists and call it islamophobic when you criticise them.

  12. Is it just me, or does this article come across as a lot of fearmongering with very little substance? Like, ok the Muslim Brotherhood are probably not the nicest bunch, but is there really a threat of them doing some sort of hostile takeover on a continent with 7.5% Muslim population? And what are even their goals? In this article, all that is stated is “political Islamist” ideology, which I’m supposed to just know is bad and evil apparently. Not saying there is nothing to be wary of, but there is a lot of subtle nudging in this article backed up by very little actual facts or news.

  13. Remember when woke organizations were willingly being used by human smugglers as a ferry service over the Mediterranean.

  14. What the hell is going on with all these populistic inflamatory articels getting posted here recently i cant decide if its a Russian Chinese or American think Tank trying to stir up shit

  15. This “article” is an opinion piece by “just some guy” and is 100% bullshit. But look at the right wingers who swallow this WITHOPUT READING. Most of the people in this comment thread read only the title, this aligns perfectly with their views… when none of that is happening. This is just an excuse to BE racist and feel good about it.

  16. It is very amusing to see so many nuckle dragging potatoes shouting “useful idiots” in one place like it was a shared stormfront word of the day calendar.

  17. An American throwaway posts an opinion piece full of misinformation that so happens to line up with the conservative right narrative of the left working with muslims to overthrow western civilisation, and people on r/europe eat it up. Amazing.

  18. The joke is that these islamist activists have an open, unabashed hatred of their ~~useful idiots~~ “””allies”””. It’s not even hidden. At best they will use the language to specifically advocate for their interests but the moment they get any sort of institutional influence, even at a local level, they use it to crack down as hard as possible on the leftist groups – especially the LGBT.

  19. The entire principle of classifying people on genetics/place-of-birth and deem all of those within such a classification worthy or unworthy is complete total bollocks.

Assholes come in all shapes and sizes, as do good people, and being deserving of help or of shunning should be down to each individual’s actions not their location of birth, religious upbringing or having a certain genetic makeup (Y genes or not, more or less melanine and so on).

It’s not just the Right that is full of asshole moralists with autoritarian leanings who want to force others to do as they say, the Left too is riddled with such scum.

  20. I love that the “useful idiot” part comes from a think tank from the UAE, a country built on oil money by slaves which is infamously anti-LGBT, while they name-drop a US scientist some sensible thoughts not having to do with the immediate topic for legitimacy.
