A Russian coworker explained this to me one time; in Russia it’s legal to own a gay bar and attend it, but it’s not allowed to promote itself, make advertising for it and publish it.
I think .ru is trying to kick western cultural institutions and influence out of the country using this rod to beat them with.

I will not bother to read the article but I will complain about Netflix – watched “Shadow and Bones” (I have read the first book, not impressed) it is an alternative version of Russia, and the cast has nothing to do with the description from the books.
“Wheel of time” is on the same road as far as I know.
I would rather say that the majority of Netflix movies are dull and boring. Usually I spend quite a while looking for a movie or series to watch and I end up torrenting a movie instead, because Netflix did not have anything interesting.
Well…. I’m all for gay rights but the amount of content in Netflix pushing gay content its too much, or race bating. Movie about the vikings? Stick a lesbo black woman in it, make it the main character!
This sub is hilarious because it managed to praise Netflix for promoting “diversity” & “progressism” in their shows but when a conservative country call them out on it, suddenly r.Europe denies they were even doing it.

Wonder if it’s showing “Sex Education” it’s a show about high school kids from Wales (despite having strong themes of old school American high schools) its on third season now and the emphasis on LGBT+ relationships has only got stronger.
