On this day on 1923, Gleno dam collapsed and six millions m3 of water fell down towards Iseo lake, killing at least 356 people (my photo, oct. 2020)

  1. Apart from the catastrophe that was the dam failure, was there any reason why it never got rebuilt?
If the energy and water was needed in the 20s you would assume it was even more needed in the decades after that.

Is it just that no one wants to touch it now because of its connection to the death of 356 people?
