  1. I find it interesting how Hanukkah is always celebrated and promoted nowadays, despite the fact that it has not been that big of a deal historically for Jews. On the other hand, major Jewish holidays are mostly ignored. The popularity of Hanukkah only began to rise pretty recently and that’s because it’s celebrated around the same time with Christmas which helps Jews in the west to defend their culture against foreign influence.
