A very N.Ireland photo. The UDR were particularly disliked. (Memorial in Ballygawley, County Tyrone for 4 UDR men blown up by a remote landmine.

  1. Not much protection, any liquids you want ycould be thrown through the bars and anything strong enough to break or dig up the stone would get through the gate just as easily. Most likely reason that there isn’t vandalism is that nobody cares enough.

  2. Don’t think anyone would go to the bother of attempting to vandalise it besides anybody could throw paint/spray paint through the bars so not much point in the cage

  3. These kinds of things are all over N.I. In fact in one of the many para controlled estates near me there’s a full on UVF, UDA memorial. Like an actual full on one. Not some piddly stones or anything but a full memorial with names, brigades, flags and wreaths.

No need for bars around that one though. You’d be fucking mad to go in there and even touch it.
