  1. >a Channel 4 news investigation has uncovered new details about Sunak’s education, property and financial dealings and has raised questions about whether his hedge fund paid him with assets in offshore tax havens.

    Hmm.

  2. Is it efficient? Popular? Profitable? Sustainable? State owned?

    Sell it.

This is why the Tories have spent over a decade failing to grow the economy and doubling the national debt. A party bereft of ideas or economic sense, happy to pawn everything that’s not nailed down for a quick bob, as long as it’s not theirs to sell, because God forbid the day should come when the public doesn’t have to foot the bill for relentless Tory shithousery.

  3. Semi-competent toff with whom there is a slim chance of management out of the COL crisis but who will impose brutal Tory dogma upon us vs. Idiot who will likely lose an election although there’s a good chance there won’t be much country left by the GE.

Or, as the Tory party would have it, “a win-win scenario”.

  4. I feel like no matter which one of the demonic cunts get elected they’ll push ahead with the Channel 4 privatisation

  5. Even though Truss is awful, she seems to be the better of the two.

I don’t understand the Starmer hate from some people, but I’ll listen to them, and I’m willing to bet he’d be a lot more competent than one of these two and Johnson before them.

  6. This is one of these issues where if it gets done opposition parties will just fold and accept it as the new status quo. I’d absolutely love Labour or Libdems or whoever, to commit to reversing this privatisation… but they won’t.

  7. What’s the point in doing a consultation and doing the opposite of what 99% of respondents said what not to do… god damn Tories.

  8. Well that is Dorries’ vote in the bag.

Cameron made the BBC what is now during their last charter renewal (BBC banked on Miliband winning and lost), Channel 4 will become similar to them if they are privatised. It will never be highly critical of the government again and the revolving doors between Westminster and the Channel 4 board will be constantly spinning as the government seeks to influence it as much as possible.

  9. TV was worth watching when Ch4 first started, I haven’t watched it for 25 years it was so crap, looked to see if its changed a few times looking at online program pages, it seems much worse.
