surely He’s got to realise that if he speaks it makes it worse, can’t he just appoint a qualified economist and let him handle this? It would allow him to focus on fewer matters and might actually create a scapegoat for some of the issues. Don’t get me wrong i don’t much like the guy but this seems stupid.
