I purchased this ticket along with my train ticket, [https://www.oebb.at/en/tickets-kundenkarten/freizeit-urlaub/oebb-plus/oberoesterreich/salzerlebnis-hallstatt](https://www.oebb.at/en/tickets-kundenkarten/freizeit-urlaub/oebb-plus/oberoesterreich/salzerlebnis-hallstatt)
I’ll be in Hallstatt from 10:30 am to 6 pm tomorrow. How can I utilize this ticket in a good way so I see everything? It looks like it is going to rain tomorrow, Please suggest some good must-visit things and food places.

Hallstatt is tiny. The biggest attraction is the picturesque look of the village, which you will be able to see from the boat approaching the village. And then the saltmine.
When you get there by boat, you will have to walk approximately 15 minutes (through the village along the lake) to get you to the mountain train thingy (“funicular”) up the mountain to the salt mine. Up there, there is a viewing platform from where you can look down on the lake. Your ticket includes the funicular up the mountain, admission to the viewing platform and then a tour through the saltmine, which is well worth it. It’s all up there on the mountain.
When you go back down again, you are back in Hallstatt village and there are two churches to go and see if you want to see them, and a museum if you want to learn more on the natural history of the village which goes back thousands of years. You can look at stuff they found in excavations and in the salt mine that was used back then already to harvest salt and ship through Europe. The museum is well worth a visit too, but then museums are not everyone’s favourite thing, so you have to decide for yourself if you want to go see it.
Foodwise, there are a couple of restaurants with good food. A bit on the pricey side, naturally, in touristy areas. But the quality is generally good. You can’t miss them. Hallstatt is basically 1 street along the lake and a market quare. That’s it. It’s tiny. Population 700 or so.
Foodwise you can also eat up on the mountain at Rudolfsturm restaurant up on the mountain when you get off the furnicular. It’s good quality, but not gourmet. And pricey too, naturally.
I enjoyed hiking along the Waldbach, it’s an easy hike for about an hour (with good shoes!)
