Kan het artikel niet terugvinden, maar de VRT had (enkele maanden terug) een heel stuk over waarom verlengingen van onze centrales praktisch en economisch onhaalbaar zijn. Beste argument naar mijn mening was het feit dat de brandstof zonder gigantische meerkost nooit op tijd geleverd zou kunnen worden, gezien daar een productietijd van meerdere jaren over gaat. Bij de vorige verlenging hebben onze operatoren daarvoor uit de neus betaald, en al aan onze regering duidelijk gemaakt dat dit geen tweede keer kan gebeuren.
Heel het heropenen van het kernuitstap-debat is pure stemmingmakerij. Ik zeg dit als iemand die in kernenergie wel degelijk mogelijkheden ziet voor een betere/groenere toekomst, maar voor ons land is het op korte termijn gewoonweg al jaren geen optie meer.

They then put in their program in 2019 that they wanted to build gas terminals all over Belgium, and GLB’s secretary general, Valentine Delwaert, who negotiated the government accord with GLB, also takes home a 6 figure salary from a gas company. So nobody here pretend this guy isn’t as much to blame as Écolo and PS for the mess he has put us in.
Why aren’t the journalists covering these conflicts of interest instead of giving him and his stupid grin a platform so that he can pretend to be opposition when he is in government everywhere!
Looks like the broken clock points the right time for once.
First of all, this has been studied several times and keeping the nuclear power plants open would make electricity prices about 1-2% lower, at most. They would still increase, but only slightly less compared to a situation where the nuclear plants have been closed.
Secondly, reading the article, it’s a ridiculously complicated system he’s concocted in his fevered brain.:

Too little, too late.
If the politicians would have decided in time, we would have kept our energy expenses somewhat reasonable. But they didn’t decide and now all options will cost us billions more.
The consumers and tax payers are left to pay that bill. And all we can do is wait a few more years before we can vote again.
Bouw mss een paar nieuwe centrales om enerzijds in energieproductie te kunnen voorzien en anderzijds de quota van CO2 uitstoot te kunnen halen zonder een derde-wereld economie te worden.
