Seems like they should let bottom right count as well.
“Guten Tag, mein Name ist Emil Meyer, Partei B ist doof”
proceeds by ripping the ballot to pieces.
“alle doof”
I wonder why the Erststimme can be counted when there is something written on the Zweitstimme column but not the other way around.
This is much the same as in the UK: there is a stubborn myth that you spoil your ballot by writing anything other than an X, but in truth the basic requirement is that the voter’s intention is clear.
There was a famous case in one British election where a ballot paper was marked with the word “WANK” in every box except one, which was marked “NOT WANK” — and it was counted as a valid vote.
The other thing is that the ballot must not be marked with any identifying information, like a name or some kind of coded message. This is to prevent corruption, as markings like that can be used to identify a voter who is hoping to receive a bribe. For the same reason you mustn’t take a photo that shows your completed ballot paper: the artist Banksy once offered people the chance to win an original work of his if they sent him a photo showing that they had voted a particular way, and had to publicly retract his offer after the police visited him (apparently they know his true identity) to explain that he risked invalidating the entire election.

Image is kinda blurry, what’s the issue with the third panel from the top in the outer right column? *Edit: thanks guys!*
Why the fuck do people not know how to properly vote. It’s not that hard to just but two damn ticks !!
in general, if you have a ballot that couldn’t have been changed from a valid ballot with a different vote, it’s valid. that’s why you can’t mark all but one vote to mark them as voted for
imagine you go in there and not mark the two things you vote but actually mark everything else and everyone is just waiting for you and wondering “why tf is this mf taking so goddam long” lol
And still there were nearly half a million invalid votes
Why is the ballot invalid if someone adds a written comment (like writing “B is bad” on the back)? As long as it does not allow the identification nor makes the voter will unclear, why not count it?
Can somebody explain to me why the last example from the first row is deemed ungültig? As long as it’s clearly visible that only box is ticked, why does it matter when the cross is larger than the box?
Well…. many do not know and count them as invalid… i have been volunteer and have seen it… I protested, but i was overvoiced.
As long as it is clear, what the will of the voter is, it is valid.
