  1. What’s the story here? Is the English fella someone significant or is he just a random pleb ringing in?

    That was pretty upsetting ngl

  2. “What a fool I was. I was only a puppet, and so was Ulster, and so was Ireland, in the political game that was to get the Conservative Party into power.

    – William Carson, regarded as the grandfather of Unionism.

  3. This was the attitude I encountered in England. Some young ones didn’t seem to realise Ireland was still divided. England is a mess, they’d be better off without ni.

  4. One English guy doesn’t mean all of us, the young ones aren’t interested in anything that isn’t 30 seconds long on tiktok or instagram. The problem is England is such a shower of shit at the moment the NI situation has been completely forgotten about.

Still rooting for you guys myself (in a peaceful way of course)

  5. English person here, he’s not wrong, a lot of young people don’t even realise that Ireland is divided and if they do, they dont know WHY they are divided.

my partner is Irish from the north and she grew up thinking England cared about the country because the police and military were English, but the public/government genuinely don’t care, the people fighting in the street don’t know that though.

I believe it would be better for all parties if Ireland was re-unified sooner rather than later

  6. The English guy comes across as a complete prick, but he has a point. Most English people do not give one shit about NI, they are not interested in keeping NI within the UK.

  7. Typical British narrative of the ‘ancient conflict between religious fanatics’ with the British state being the impartial arbitrators of peace. It’s such a manufactured view of Ireland and incredibly ignorant and harmful.
