Hi guys, my friend came and visited me in Germany a few weeks ago and unfortunately he was infected with covid. He went to a GP who did a PCR test on him and a few weeks later I received this invoice that he has to pay. The amount looks crazy to me. What would you suggest I do in this situation?
Seems pretty normal to me.
I trust your friend has travel insurance that will cover this. He does, doesn’t he?
Quick goggle results:
40-80€
Your test seems to be quit expensive, but not impossible.
It’s at the high end of the normal range of PRC test prices as I remember them from this spring: 80 to 150 EUR.
This is obviously the price without any health insurance coverage. Does your friend have health insurance in Germany (public or private) or from abroad with coverage in Germany (EHIC, travel, or other health insurance)?

Next step would be to contact them.
