As long as the relevant member state pays for the costs associated with having additional languages, it would seem hard for anyone to object.
We don’t need it for Galician; Portuguese translators in the Parliament do the job already. That’s a fact and has been done; if someone doesn’t like it it’s not my problem.
can anyone ELI5 this to me? I always thought the Madrid government was real touchy about encouraging Catalan identity because it doesn’t like Catalan separationism.
Is this basically a peace offering? Like a “look, we’ll help you maintain Catalan identity while being part of Spain”?
