Sent a parcel with Royal Mail from UK to Germany, got returned to me like this… what do i need to do and how can I resend it properly? What have I done wrong?

  1. The recipient didn’t want to take it. So talk to them and ask them. Probably they didn’t want to pay taxes on it.

  2. It says “Annahme verweigert”, meaning the recipient refused to accept it. Perhaps due to the additional 6€ the recipient would have to pay extra.

    Whom did you send it to? Family? Friends? A business package?

  3. My parcel got routed to the DHL warehouse in Berlin when my sister sent presents for my son. The woman working there told my wife that companies are sending things back or sending them to the warehouses because they don’t have the capacity to process them.

    I was in disbelief when I heard this. They reach a certain quota and then get rid of a certain amount each day using those two methods.

  4. I guess this could happen, because the recipient haven’t got the letter about payment of the import fee. Same happened to me. The package was never even in my town, stopped at the border. Probably, I should have been constantly tracking it, to know that I should pay. I know, that one firm managed to provide DHL with my email, and it worked perfectly. Probably, you can also pay fee yourself somehow.
