Reuters is funded by the Russian govt. so seeing a story like this makes me think that it’s exactly what the Kremlin want you to see.
Haven’t people been saying this since the first week of the invasion?
This is actually a perfect example of how the media controls what people think by printing lies.
Ukraine has been, and continues to be overwhelmingly buttfucked by Russia. Russia won’t stop. At some point there won’t be a Ukraine anymore. That’s the facts. The daily fucking news reports of “PUTIN IS FAILING, RUSSIA IS FUCKED, THEY HAVE NO EQUIPMENT OR TROOPS LEFT” is a pack of lies and a sick perverted delusion by the government owned media.
We’ve been told this pretty much since the war began. Russia is still winning and they will win eventually, its an inevitability and was from the beginning. Western leaders are prepared to fight the Russians down to the very last Ukrainian, so long as there is money to be made selling them weapons.
I believe there is an old diplomatic saying that Russia is never as weak as it seems or as strong as it seems. There is a permanent fog of disinformation over the governing of the country which appears to be effective when contradictory reports appear in the Western media.
Is this the same MI6/SIS who previously sent agents to assassinate Russian leaders?
I don’t like this “analysis”. Not because of the implied end of war (who could be against peace), but because it is an assumption. How would anyone know that this prediction is accurate? The spy chief has no crystal ball either. How does he know martial law won’t be declared in Russia?
These analyses seem more like a targeted ad that tries to prepare the readers to a specific narrative. Are these who make these predictions liable? If their prediction is incorrect, will their private assets be seized and given to poor people? Because otherwise, why should one assume that this is anything than yet another crystal ball prediction?
Well, here’s a Muppet that will be proven wrong. Can we sack him after that??
If you believe this, I have some WMD to sell you!
Haven’t they been saying that for weeks?
How many months have we been hearing this same shit from British intelligence though
They have been saying that for months. It’s better to listen to the Austrians instead, they are taking a more un-bias review on the situation.
They’ve been saying this for ages. It’s propaganda.
Thing is, it’s Russia, and not only that, Russia under the heel of Putin.
They indeed might be about to stall, their Arty barrels are about worn out, their forces are decimated and they’re pulling in ‘troops’ from their poorest and most impoverished areas. The firehose of bullshit being spewed from their state media has to be seen to be believed. How the hell did the Russians allow their own country to get into the state that it is now. The UK has its issues but they pale into insignificance against russias.
Any sane country would give this invasion up as a bad job. But putin’s in too deep now, the Russian military has been shown up as a paper tiger. The only thing he can do now is carry on and the only thing the UE can do is MAKE him loose.
Situation is fucked up and fucked up for civilians on both sides most of all.
Seeing as they have held the Crimea for nearly a decade I think they are going to see this out for a while
He’s sexing up the dire condition of the Rooskies for the conference. They have an infinite supply of misery so, don’t write them off too soon.
I have heard this from a few places lately which gives me hope. We already saw the northern invasion collapse a few months ago as well. It is a fact that Russia is losing a lot of manpower and equipment each day the war continues, but it is harder to say how much more they can take before collapse. Russia has a history of sending large numbers of their own people to their deaths.
Hopefully it ends soon, but I will remain somewhat pessimistic until it happens.

Meanwhile, Javelin systems given to Ukraine for defence are now turning up on the international black market, and the [US is starting to revert to its prior concerns about rampant corruption](https://www.npr.org/2022/07/20/1112414884/corruption-concerns-involving-ukraine-are-revived-as-the-war-with-russia-drags-o) (that were common at the US State Department before the war).
