He was charged with carrying a knife, got 18 months. But what I don’t get is, surely if he didn’t have the knife, he would have been killed. So if you’re in the UK, what are the police supposed to protect you, where where they when this man was attacked? Feel like self defence laws in the UK could be a little more accommodating, because I’d rather get 18 months than die.
