So he’ll get sentenced for coercive control which in no fully covers the extend of his crimes, which are just horrific. What he did to that poor woman.

ETA – He (Paul Moody of St Rapheals Manor, Celbridge, Kildare) got three years three months in prison. Which is high for that judge, but I would think not enough).

  2. What I want to know is why he was allowed to resign…WTF he should have been sacked…does this mean he gets to keep his pension etc…absolute scum of the earth. It will be very interesting to see what sort of sentence he gets, by right they should throw away the key. He’s a danger to women & won’t change

  3. And a work colleague helped him to keep higher ups from knowing about it….not that would’ve made a difference but still. Absolute fucking trash. My stock in the gards plummeted years ago but this is atrocious.

  4. Of course theres campaigns, ads and waffle from Helen McEntee and the usual axe grinders when a lad on a council estate might do this, but a ‘good aul Gard’ and theres radio silence and no names.

  5. People who go into law enforcement have a much higher chance of being domestic abusers than the general population. This shouldn’t be surprising to anyone.

  6. Could someone tell me why is it that he can’t be named?

What and absolute scum of a human being. Some of the details of this case are an embarrassment. The collusion with other Gardai in particular, but what will be done?

I know Gardai aren’t all bad, but when something like this happens it shows you what is really going on in the organisation. It is rotten to the core and should be dismantled.

  7. He’s been named as Paul Moody.

He’s got his name all over the place. Remember a couple of drunk lads were arsing about on the Liffey on a boat before covid and a Garda jumped on and arrested them? That was him.

    >Paul doesn’t have a temper, there’s not an aggressive bone in his body, he’s generous to a fault, a great supportive friend.

:E Bad look for the owner of Brown Sugar.
