This is important: Yellow cherries! They do exist in Switzerland after all! This may be oddly specific, but unavailability of yellow cherries in the Summer was my second greatest complaint about Switzerland.

  1. Yellow cherries were staple of Summer road trips for me back in Poland. You buy them from dusty roadside stands, where the fruits collect dust, dirt and exhausts of passing cars.

Here in Switzerland red cherries are better than any cherries I had back in Poland. But the lack of yellow ones was puzzling. But hey, here they are!

Thank you Coop for bringing me a piece of my childhood back.

  2. Yeah, yellow cherries are <chef’s kiss>
Not sure why you thought there weren’t any here, though.
They’re not everywhere like the black ones, but they do grow here and are part of the culture.
Here’s a traditional children’s song about going to pick them:

  3. Personally I hate that in my local coop there are no chillies most of the year and I can’t figure out why (they are in big coop in Zurich etc)

  4. Ok never saw them before. I first thought why does coop sell physalis without the leaves when seeing the picture
