25% of Flemish population is of foreign descent in 2022, compared to 10% in 2000; the Netherlands is the main country of origin

  1. My previous submission got removed because I said that the Netherlands and Morocco were tied as main countries origin, since it’s only a 3% difference (240.744 vs 233.202) and the third country, Turkey, represents 156.881 people.

  2. These statistics are so pointless. They know very well that your average HLN reader will read this as “omvolking!1!!” even though foreign descent also includes Belgians who moved just 200m across the border, had a child there, and then moved back with their child (which is a lot of them in Limburg and the North of Antwerp).

    I also find it hilarious that the Flemish region needs it own statistics service and produces ugly maps that stop at the artificial language border and have a thick hole in the middle since the Brussels region is there. What statistician will ever use data so politically motivated?

  4. It is also how you define foreigners. Is a child of a Dutch and a Belgian marriage really a foreigner.

    Fun to see that the USSR & Yugoslavia still exists in the statistics.

  7. According to the Humo I read in 2000, owned by DPG off course, the reason for immigration is that Flemish people are “Stupid, lazy and picky”.

    I’m a left winger but I am not for immigration because the people pushing it can’t help themselves and have to frame it as a punishment for white workers. And they also claim immigrants are horribly oppressed in white countries, so they are saying the multicultural is a failure. Why is immigration a virtue if life here is so horrible for immigrants? It makes no sense.

    I’m anti racist and the people pushing for multiculture are clearly racist against white people. And I’ll probably get called a racist for pointing that out.

    I like walking walking through immigrant neighborhoods and don’t feel threatened at all. But it is clear that in the ideology of multiculturalism, white people are an evil race. Read the Humo from the 2000s. Watch John Oliver now on YouTube. They can’t seem to help themselves. Therefore this project cannot succeed.

    I am also acutely aware that it’s white people who say racist things about white people. They must think it’s a loophole but you are just as racist as a vlaams belanger. At least a vlaams belanger is smart enough to realise he is racist.
