Woman lay dead at home for two-and-a-half years after housing trust ‘inaction’ and police blunder

  1. Sometimes it scares me that this will happen to me- though not over such a sustained period as my universal credit would be stopped sooner, which would lead to rent arrears developing quicker (I already pay £101 per month than the housing element I’m awarded) which would likely trigger a series of events that would result in the emergency services finding me.

I can only hope that she died peacefully and that some positive comes as a result of such appallingly cruel circumstances. Sadly Sheila isn’t the first, nor will she be the last, to be condemned to an ending like this.

  2. >Her skeletal remains could only be identified through dental records,

Forking hell.. aside from the smell surely the neighbours must have noticed the insane amount of flies?

  3. This was like a case from a documentary on Channel 4 a few years ago.

    A strange and sad story.

  4. Both the police and the landlords failed to do the most basic welfare checks… what the hell. Good on the neighbours for continuously taking action but what the hell.
