When you always imagined your mediocre life in 2030 would be living in a bland, sprawling, semi-dethatched housing estate – but even that mediocrity is now out of your league. /s

  1. This is why I’m eating all the animal products, burning all the fossil fuels and using plastic straws. Scorched-earth policy

  2. **Then**
“If you don’t go to college and get a good paying job you will end up in a shithole or a van on the side of the road”

    **Now**

“If you go to college and get a good paying job you might get lucky and end up in a shithole or a van on the side of the road”

  3. From 2000-2007 most houses were out of my league, in 2018 they became in my league and again in 2022. Prices change, stop being dramatic.

  4. Funny enough I read a letter I sent myself from 2011. It goes on about the difficult economic times, but thought by 2020 I would be married in a semi detached house and a car with a decent if unremarkable career. Mediocre ambitions cannot be achieved in Ireland.

  5. Why I don’t want to come back to Ireland. The cost of buying property is insane and rent is feckin mental.

Still can’t buy property here but at least my rent is low and I live in a modern city. Still, I miss Ireland. It’s been 4 years since I could get home with COVID being the main culprit and now high airfare.

  6. The word is semi detached – means it’s attached to one house on one side (as opposed to detached, mid terrace, end of terrace). It has nothing to do with the thatching.

  7. It says a lot about how far we’ve come that a semi D is somehow considered “mediocre”

  8. Logan’s run we should kill all those unsexy people over 30 instant housing crisis avoided.

O wait I’m over 30 I may not have taught this fully true
