You see him score all of these amazing points on Tv but what you don’t see is his footballing genius and instinct to run into space or burn his marker for pace on driving sprints before preparing to shoot.
If you really pay attention to his play he very rarely attempts a shot unless he’s in a high percentage zone (similar to Dublin) and that’s why he notches up so many points, and even still he has the capabilities to shoot long range as well.
He’s a really strong guy too that can push off a marker like squatting a fly and takes off in a flash and before you realise it, the ball is already over the bar.
I used to think he was vastly overrated like many think , but watching him in the flesh for a couple of games this year has completely changed that.
Television doesn’t do him justice, you have to see it in real time to believe it and appreciate his skill.
I’m not sure just yet is his immortal status warranted by the press but he is by far and away the most fastest forward I’ve ever seen play and not necessarily just on speed of pace, but also his ability to think on the fly and set up scores for other players around him.
Whatever it is he has it in buckets. The kind of instinct and footballing brain that cannot be coached or trained. His reading of games and set plays is outstanding.
Between sliced bread and this guy, I’ve only ever heard of one of them so my vote goes to bread
Na the best thing was when they discovered bread was just raw toast.
D’you remember when he was pilled out of it on RTE
Best thing since Mattie Conors.
One of the greatest forwards of the modern game. But he is not the best player ever, yet.
rte commentators raved about him like he’s the second coming. Personally I thought Shane Walsh for Galway had a better game.
Everytime I see his face, “Daaaaaaavid clifford” from second captains jumps into my head

Here’s my thoughts on him as a neutral.
