What would actually be kind of racist would be if all the countries that immediately banned travel from South Africa didnt ban travel from the EU.
Ramaphosa found travel restrictions relatively sensible in the past, Germany, Italy, Spain and the U.K. if I remember rightly; no visas, no entry.

Going off at a bit of a tangent here – I was watching a programme on German TV about the O-variant and it was stated, by someone who should know, that all Covid cases in German ICUs were known to be the Delta variant. Does that mean we have succeeded in killing off the original Alpha and Beta variants? Surely that is some sort of good news.
Can’t be blamed for a new variant when you are unable to test quickly enough.
