Hot showers use up to 25% of household energy

  1. In our case i would say that is approx right in terms of the bill at least . We have quite an efficient home and so electricity heats it . The only thing thats left of gas is the shower .. So i was thinking to install an on demand heater right at the shower head since it means no waste as water travels from the more distant boiler ( and gas is less efficient ) . Then there are the tricks like lowering pressure ( since most of the shower energy is poured down the drain ) and of course temp. But yeah rapidly approach the point where its not worth it to have gas for even the shower as here Electricity is cheaper than gas per kwh .

  2. This guy Wim Hof advocates for cold showers. I could never do it, cold baths are easier since little moving water. Plus cold showers in winter are double the pain.

  3. I bet this is one of those Central European things, my Finnish shower stays warm no matter the outside temperature
