  1. Jap cars form the 90’s are serious hot now going for mad money a good skyline r33 your talking €50.000

  2. How do you get insured on these? No one will quote my on my 97 starlet so I have to renew with the same company and can’t shop around.

  3. Classic Japanese cars fetch a premium in Ireland, especially if it was a performance version or higher spec than standard. This one looks to have been restored as well as (what probably adds to the price) it’s stock and unmodified.
You can get a lot faster car for the money, but these are now real enthusiasts cars.

  4. Well back in the day they where where under a certain insurance band thanks to their engine size so they where a lot of peoples first cars in the 90’s and then turned into a bit of a littleboy racers go to car because it took very little to tune and it already made more power than Most other similar sizer cars. So in Ireland there is an Old Honda Civic nostalgia.

  5. If you can get those cars for next to nothing you should be buying them up and sending them to places were they are being fought over.

  6. Because weird lads still have some fetish for japanese shitboxes from the 90s.

If you like that check out the money lads are asking for boxy starlets.

And before anyone starts the golf and audi a4 lads are just as mental

  7. Not seen a set of fat fives in a minute.

Anyway to answer your question op, you haven’t a clue what you’re on about and you can’t get an eg6 in Poland for 500 quid.

  8. Might be cheaper in Poland because its left hand drive.

Right hand drive civics of this generation are becoming rarer and still have an enthusiast tuner/ cult following.

These prices will only continue to rise as they get older.

  9. The gen 5 Civic isn’t easy to get anymore in Ireland they’re extremely sought after even the poverty spec cars are hard got let alone an original EG6. Its supply and demand really Ireland has quite a die hard Honda following within the car community and over 30 years or so since the first of the gen 5 civics were sold a lot of them were crashed, scraped, broken for parts or got claimed by rust so now you have a perfect storm of a lot of those enthusiasts who are older now and want to relive the nostalgia of owning one but there’s now only a handful of them left, the pandemic also drove up the prices because a lot of people were stuck working so instead of going on holidays or eating out so they saved money and now had all this money and nothing to spend it on so they started buying project cars to keep themselves busy.

  10. This isn’t your standard Civic, it’s an enthusiast car that is getting rarer by the day. With the greatest respect OP, you haven’t a notion what you are talking about.

  11. Those teal green eg6’s are rare .. Standard with fat fives and no rust will make that money all day long

  12. I’m going to Gdanske this summer. I will keep my eye out for a sir16 civic as there could be money to be made.

I have driven a 3.5t sprinter to Poland so know the roads. Might pick up an FSO Polinez whilst I’m at it.

The wife doesn’t know she might be driving home in a Soviet era rwd hatchback and I can take the Honda Sure it will be great craic 👍

I’m thinking about the time I bought a Peugeot 309 GTI whilst on holiday in Bordeaux. That nearly caused a divorce.

  13. Eg civics are getting rare, id say 80% of the quick ones ended on their roof, a b16 vti is the next best thing to a sir, great cars and very lively for a 90s hatchback, I’d like one!

It’s not worth 14,000 through, but he only needs one fool that’s willing to give that for it, I’d say after reading the advert it’s had a wad of cash thrown into it, and now the owners chancing his arm trying to claw back as much as possible, if it had a fresh engine(rebuilt) then maybe it would be worth 10-12 to an absolute muppet!

  14. Also, in Poland they are easier with kilometer count ‘correction’ and combining 2 total loss cars into one ‘brand new’ one.

I lived in a village in Poland beside a place where they did that

  15. Let’s compare:

1995 Honda 12k up front to get the car, it would need to be NCTed every year, tax would be not the cheapest.

    Or

A brand new electric car like for instance the VW ID3 or ID4. 5k~ to get the car keys in your hand. Cheaper to run but is around 800e a month with no trade in. Tax 120 a year. No NCT for a long time. Car keeps value really well because it’s newer.

I’d be going electric personally. It really depends on your usage, the electric right now would be a massive bargain if you use your car heavily.

  16. Those eg6 VTi’s are pretty quick to be fair. Anything pre 2004 with a DOHC Vtec engine will get you a nice few pound.

Fast & Furious put performance toyota, mazdas, nissans & hondas onto the map big time. Tesco car parks havent been the same since.

  17. Because 18 year old shams consider this an “enthusiast car” 😂 Stupid kids will pay mad money for this piece of shit car.

  18. I know a lot of cars are advertised for crazy money of late, but i tend to keep an eye on them and fuck all seem to be selling though.
