Turkey ‘Shortlists’ Rafale Fighters For Its Air Force As US Congress Unlikely To Clear F-16 Sales

  1. >the US House of Representatives passed legislation barring the US administration from selling or transferring F-16s to Turkey unless the administration certifies that doing so is critical to US national security and takes strong measures to **make sure that the fighter jets are not used for “unauthorized overflights” of Greece**.

And France won’t do the same even for a fellow EU member?

  2. France is just going to lean forward and whisper the word : “Finlaaaaaannnd”.

Stop being a dickhead, Turkey, and people might be willing to deal with you.

  3. France will sell to just about anybody but they’re firmly in the prop Greece camp. Along with the rest of the EU. Turkey might get Saab Gripens but then Greece could block their entry to NATO.

  4. With France clearly siding with Greece… You might have more luck with Eurofighter. Not much more though. UK is working on that new fighter engine with Turkiye. Germany always considers it economic ties with Turkiye. Italy & Spain unsure.. So relations might be better. But doubt that UK wants to risk ties with the US. Or Germany want to be accused of favoring Turkiye.

South Korea? New plane is with a lot of US tech. Will end up with a veto from the US. So either shape up or be left with either Russian equipment ( and their proven quality..) or PRC being a complete questionmark.
