Labour Party in Northern Ireland urges UK party to allow it to stand candidates – LabourList

  1. Will be funny seeing them register as unionists then have to watch their posters get burnt on a bonfire by the pul community.

  2. With the likelihood that reunification will be reality in the next ~20 years, what is the ultimate aim here?

It would be good to have an ‘areligious’ party (other than Alliance) in NI, but any ‘moderate’ unionists will already be voting any party but DUP/TUV.

Who would vote for a ‘unionist’ version of SDLP, when their policies are being represented by other parties, ‘community’ voting traditions aside, and would they integrate with the Irish Labour party upon reunification?
